Protein Structure Bioinformatics

In life, nearly all work is done by proteins. So, charging it a bit, "You understand proteins, you understand life".

The Protein Structure Bioinformatics group concentrates on understanding proteins with a strong focus on protein structures and what these structures can tell us about their function, or is case of disease often their dis-function.

To pursue our dream that is "to always understand what proteins do or don't and why" we work on improving, validating, and modelling protein structures. We also work on annotating protein structures with conservation and variability information, and with knowledge that can be extracted from the literature.
