The Radboud Proteomics Center embodies the core expertise on proteomics and its applications in biomedical research, being one of the Technology Platforms within the Radboud UMC. Using a considerable variety of mass spectrometry platforms, proteomics applications range from straightforward identification of proteins and their modifications, to comprehensive profiling of biological system and de novo mapping of yet unknown (sub)proteomes. Special focus resides in the study of protein complexes that are related to biomedical function (including their composition, modifications and regulation) and considerable expertise has been build in the past years on mitochondrial complexes.

The interaction of the Radboud Proteomics Center with the departemental metabolomics, glycomics and diagnostic laboratories enables a smooth translation of findings to implementation in clinical care, one of the other focus points of the proteomics laboratory.
